Victims of Terrorism

Human Rights Action Group works with victims of terrorism.

Human Rights Action Group is working with groups that represent victims of terrorism, including Secure Canada (formerly the Canadian Coalition Against Terror), an organization that was founded in the aftermath of 9/11 by Maureen Basnicki and Daniel Eisen, Canadians who lost loved ones in that attack. Human Rights Action Group works with these groups on legal and policy initiatives to protect and support victims of terrorism and mass violence.

Human Rights Action Group co-founder Sarah Teich recently prepared two reports (here and here), containing 50 targeted recommendations for a federal, victims-centred policy for cross-border victims of terrorism, which was commissioned and endorsed by the Canadian Office of the Federal Ombudsman for Victims of Crime.
